A dependency hearing gives the Florida Department of Children and Families the right to remove your children from your home. You may think you’re a good parent and this could never happen to you, but a well-meaning teacher who sees an injury or an ex-spouse who makes a false complaint could easily bring them to your door. When a complaint is filed, you must act quickly. To prevent child abuse, the DCF has to take all complaints seriously and find a fast resolution.
Like other court proceedings, you have the right to assert your rights and argue for what’s best for your family.
